The record-breaking start of 2022 secures the uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 and the war in Ukraine.
Stalatube Oy, the manufacturer of stainless steel pipes, profiles, and components, achieved the second-best annual result in its history. Net sales in 2021 increased to EUR 88.8 million and EBIT totaled EUR 10.3 million. For the successful year of operation, the company also rewarded the entire staff by distributing a Christmas bonus in addition to the annual bonus. In 2021, 92% of Stalatube’s net sales were exported.
Last year was excellent for us and we had great successes. The pandemic that started in 2020 brought us to our knees, but with the bold and innovative strategy we have succeeded to increase our operations to a new, stronger rise, says CEO Sami Packalén.
The year 2022 has started with breaking records. The result for February is the best ever in the company’s 50-year history. EBIT amounted to EUR 2.6 million in February.
Strong order stock and independence from Russian trade promise good profitability this year as well. However, the excellent start to the year is still overshadowed by the Covid-19 and now the war in Ukraine. Indirect effects, especially on raw material procurement and logistics, have already been noticed.
We are living in a time of constant global change, which we must be prepared for. Thanks to our agile strategy and professional staff, we are able to react quickly to unexpected changes. The record-breaking result for the first half of the year and the strong order stock give us an excellent basis for the entire operating year, says CEO Packalén.
In line with Stalatube’s new strategy, the company will focus strongly on the production of high-strength stainless steel structural pipes, profiles, and components. Instead of competing for bulk products, the company wants to stand out as a reliable and responsible manufacturer of special products.
