We participate with Committed status
Stalatube is committed to setting corporate emission reductions through the Science-Based Targets initiative, or SBTi. Science-based SBTi was created to promote climate action in the private sector by helping companies set science-based emission reduction targets for their operations. In addition to committing, companies must produce a credible plan for reducing their own emissions.
During the next spring, we will set 1-3 individual emission reduction targets to guide our actions and decision-making. The target could be a percentage reduction in emissions, for example. It is good that we will have a clear, larger target against which we can benchmark our operational targets in the future.

Signing a commitment letter means that the SBTi website publicly states that the organisation is committed to the targets set. Once an organisation has formally committed to setting science-based targets, it has 24 months to define them and seek formal validation of the targets by SBTi.
Short-term (5-10 years) targets should be set according to a 1.5-degree scenario. These targets will be updated when the target deadline is reached. Compared to the base year, emissions in 2030 should be halved.
The long-term targets aim to reduce the remaining emissions in line with the 1.5°C target by 2050 at the latest.
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) comprises the UN Global Compact, the environmental organisation WWF, the climate reporting organisation CDP and the World Resources Institute (WRI).
