From Internship to Leadership: Jori Määttänen’s Journey at Stalatube

Jori Määttänen, our Sales Director, started his career with the company in 2002 as an intern in production and product development. After his internship, he stayed on as a summer worker and worked evenings while studying. After graduating as a Mechanical Engineer in 2004, he got a permanent position as a Production Engineer.

As a production engineer, Jori was responsible for downstream processing, such as tube cutting, grinding and pickling, and managed a team of 17 people. After four years, he moved to sales technical support, where he assisted sales people and met with customers. After two years, he became a Product Manager.

He has been involved in the Transport business since its inception in 2008 and has also sold other products. In 2010, Jori moved fully into sales and got his first sales areas. Now, as a Sales Director, he is responsible for the Transport business and values his work community.

“The main reasons I’ve enjoyed Stalatube are the great colleagues and the good team.” Jori says.

He recommends Stalatube for the variety of tasks and the developing business. He says employees have the opportunity to contribute to reducing CO2 emissions, for example, which is important for future generations.

“We have a real opportunity to make a difference to the environment. Few companies in Finland have such a big impact.” he says.

According to Jori, Stalatube values the independence of its employees and gives them room to develop their own skills. He highlights that the company encourages active and goal-oriented work, but also a good work-life balance.
