Petri Silvennoinen started his career at Stalatube in 2011 as a Warehouse Worker, without a clear plan for his future at that time. Yet, just over a decade later, he now works as a Supply Chain Planner and plays a key role in production planning and logistics.
Petri’s career path has been strongly shaped by his proactive approach and willingness to seize opportunities.
“I had never really planned to progress to a certain point. When opportunities have come along, I’ve just taken them,” he says.
That is exactly what happened, for example, when a position opened up in logistics and Petri took it. A similar opportunity later led to his current role in production planning.
He has also previously worked as a Warehouseman and for 4 years as a Work Planner. So, he had a good background in production planning before coming to Stalatube.
“My employer has noticed my work and given me opportunities,” Petri says.
In his current role, Petri particularly values the regularity of his day job and the closeness of his workplace, which are important factors for someone with a family. He also highlights the positive work atmosphere and the support from the employer as key reasons for enjoying his work.
“Here is very good atmosphere, opportunities to develop yourself and to move from one job to another within the company if you are interested.”
Petri’s career is a great example of how the path isn’t always straight, and how your attitude, skills, and willingness to take on new opportunities can take you forward.
