A returnee with a passion for marketing and a commitment to leadership

Petra Peltovako, our Marketing and Communications Director, returned to Stalatube four years ago after spending nearly seven years in the events industry. Before that, she gained extensive experience in marketing and communications across various sectors, including advertising, recruitment, and healthcare. Throughout her career, the common thread has always been marketing and communications.

I came back to Stalatube simply because they asked,” Petra laughs. “I get attached to workplaces, especially to the people, so changing jobs isn’t always easy for me. But this time, I knew what I was returning to, and in that phase of life, new challenges felt right.

With her return, Stalatube elevated marketing and communications to the management team level for the first time, something Petra believes should be standard in almost every organization.

You can’t overstate the importance and complexity of communication, especially when it comes to customer and employee satisfaction,” she emphasizes. “It’s not just about words, it’s about listening and turning insight into concrete action.

Creating a great place to work

Since we spend roughly a third of our day at work, Petra believes it’s vital as a leader to ensure her team has the best possible conditions for a balanced daily life.

A balanced life contributes to employee well-being, and that, in turn, boosts productivity. If we only live once, why should work be about maximizing misery?

She especially values the current team spirit at Stalatube. It’s easy to come to work when colleagues are friendly, laughter fills lunch breaks, and there’s space to vent without fear of judgment.

Trust fuels vision

Once trust is earned, Stalatube offers the freedom to bring both individual and shared team visions to life. Petra’s diverse background in marketing communications across multiple industries has only strengthened her approach in her current role.

I’m not a numbers person by nature, but I’ve grown to understand and respect the engineer’s mindset. The work ethic at Stalatube is simply exceptional.

International business has always fascinated Petra. After earning her BBA and BA degrees in the Netherlands, she later completed a Master’s in International Business and Marketing at the Turku School of Economics. Last autumn, she began pursuing her long-held dream of an EMBA at Henley Business School, on top of her full-time work.

Balancing work and study has been more challenging than I expected. I’ve definitely asked myself what I was thinking when I dreamed of postgraduate studies, Petra admits with a smile.

Still, she’s deeply grateful to her employer for the opportunity.

This is where real resilience grows, when you spend your evenings and weekends immersed in study,” she says, laughing. “But learning never goes to waste. Quite the opposite.
