SBTi Validation Confirms Stalatube’s Climate Targets

Stalatube has reached an important milestone in its climate work: the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated the company’s emission reduction targets. This validation confirms that our targets are aligned with climate science and the 1.5°C ambition of the Paris Agreement.

With this approval, Stalatube joins 2,541 companies globally, including 42 Finnish companies, with validated Near-Term and Net-Zero targets.

We are committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across our entire value chain by 2050. In addition, we have set ambitious interim targets for 2030: reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% and Scope 3 emissions by 52% per tonne of production, compared to the 2021 base year.

In the long term, our goal is to reduce both Scope 1 and 2 emissions and Scope 3 emissions by 90% by 2050.

SBTi validation supports Stalatube’s strategy towards low-carbon operations and guides our development work across the entire value chain. We will continue systematic efforts to reduce emissions together with our customers and partners.
